Located at North of Selinda lies another huge Kwando private reserve which covers 2,300 square kilometers. The private reserves offers advantage and more off-road driving is permitted compared to National Parks or Game Reserves. Tracking is therefore an exciting adventure.
Linyanti is situated North of Savuti in a corner of the Chobe National Park. The Linyanti swamp is one of the most attractive areas in the park. It has papyrus-lined waterways, extensive reed banks and towering riverine forest similar to that of the deltas. The river forms a swamp area, reminiscent of the one found in the Okavango, although it is not more than 900 square kilometers in extent, as opposed to the much larger Okavango.
Wildlife
Wildlife viewing in the Linyati region is nothing short of spectacular, vast number of elephant, big lion prides, sable antelope, leopard, impala, zebras, hippos, and is a wild dog stronghold in the dry winter months. The area offers impressive birding all year round. Completed by the stunning landscapes and terrain makes the region more amazing.
This herds of elephants normally transit down the Linyati river at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the main natural waterholes are flooded in summer.
